Plume Behavior in Highly Variable Winds

Back to blog

We think this is the most capricious plume we’ve ever seen! Over the course of the night, this guy just couldn’t decide what he wanted to do. Surprisingly, the winds were pretty light (from nearly still to 1-2m/s) even when the plume appeared long and focused. This plume can, however, blame its ambivalence on the wind, whose direction wavered by nearly 180 degrees.
